What will you pledge for Plastic Free July?
This year’s Plastic Free July campaign focuses on small changes each of us can make to reduce plastic waste. We’ve said it before, but small actions really do make a BIG difference. Every time we refuse to accept a plastic bag, or bring our refill coffee cup, we are driving change. Whichever single-use plastic you pledge to remove, you are having an impact.
In January, we asked what you would pledge this year, and for Plastic Free July it’s not too late to start one.
But lets not stop at Plastic Free July, let’s keep our pledge going all year…and beyond.
Here’s how:
- Sign up to Plastic Free Communities to get your Individual Action Plan for facts, tips and advice on single-use plastic.
- Choose your pledge, click and save the logo below
- Share your pledge on social media, and don’t forget to tag #Plasticfreecommunities and #surferagainstsewage, and link to this blog. Sharing the message creates waves of change.
Here’s a handy pre-written example:
I ‘m taking a stand against single-use plastic, and pledge to not buy bottled water. Want to make your own plastic pledge for Plastic Free July and beyond? Find out how here ‘link to blog’. #plasticfreecommunities #surfersagainstsewage
Made the pledge already? We would love to hear how you got on! Share your update and tag us in it too.
Plastic production is set to double by 2030. Plastic Free July is the time for us to come together, make a stand and say no to single-use, one pledge at a time.
There are over 600 Plastic Free Communities in the UK, working to free their streets, beaches and green spaces from single-use plastic. If you would like to find your nearest community and get involved with the wave of change in the UK, then head to our Map. Here you can find out where our communities are and how to contact them.
If you would like to do more to take action on plastic, then why not start your own Plastic Free Community? You can find out more HERE
